While his family is on vacation, we have been keeping him on a busy schedule with lots of exercise (playtime) which works up his appetite, leading to feeding time and of course, loads of pampering (TLC).

The chances that your little one will react in the following manner should not come as a surprise

1. Your dog becomes very timid and hides in a corner.
2. Your dog becomes defensive when other dogs try to sniff him/her.
3. Your dog begins to whine and begs you to carry him/her.
4. Your dog gets extremely excited and pees uncontrollably.

Like any other social creatures, they need time to warm up to others. Depending on their individual character and age, there’s really no fixed time as to how fast or slow they will get used to the new environment and the other guests.

But the thing for parents to understand is to work closely with the caregiver and get feedback to see how your little one is coping.

And when they’re introduced to their own kind at an early age, they’ll pick up useful social skills such as sharing and playing nicely with others.

Many a times for pets who do not get the opportunity to mix around, they tend to develop a number of bad behaviors such as barking at other dogs who cross their path, not willing to share toys, getting aggressive or even become a recluse.
